HOUSE MODEL   | BLENDER - THREE.JS
JULY 2022

This project presents a compact stylized environment built around a house, trees, grass, and water elements. The scene is exported from Blender and adapted into a native Three.js runtime for the portfolio page, preserving the original visual composition while keeping the interaction flow lightweight and responsive. The modeling phase is built around simple low-poly decisions that keep the house mass and surrounding elements in one visual family. Forms are separated for quick browser readability so the roof, trees, and ground remain legible even from a distant view. UV layout is organized pragmatically to keep repeated vegetation and ground parts behaving consistently. That preparation reduces unexpected surface breaks under browser-side reflections and lighting, which helps the diorama stay visually clean. The visual character is driven less by dense texture layering and more by color blocking plus controlled material response. This keeps the stylized look intact while still making surface categories readable under light.

Cube environment reflections are used selectively on the water plane and glossy accents. Keeping reflection intensity balanced strengthens the scene mood without overpowering the primary shape masses. For the final presentation, the scene runs as a native Three.js runtime with GLB loading, cube environment mapping, directional light, and orbit controls — tied into the portfolio lifecycle with lazy initialization and visibility-aware rendering to reduce unnecessary work. When reduced motion is not requested, a slow idle rotation improves passive reading of the diorama volume relationships. The experience stays clean on desktop and mobile, with the model remaining the center of attention.
